Cathcart Springs is an established townhome community in Arlington, VA. Despite being less than 7 miles from the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C. and only 7 blocks from the Ballston Metro Station, the community is serene with a park-like setting, sidewalks and a pond.
Built between 1981 and 1983, many of the Colonial-style townhomes at Cathcart Springs have been renovated to include updated fixtures, flooring and appliances. Spanning multiple levels, the homes range from around 1,500 square feet to more than 2,200 square feet in living space and include an open floor plan, 3 or more bedrooms and bathrooms, and a private patio.
Many of the townhomes have charming features, such as bay windows that allow in plenty of natural light, built-in shelving, architectural molding, classic staircases with wood handrails, and one or more fireplaces.
Monthly fees include common area, lawn and road maintenance; snow removal; and management services.
Despite the community’s quiet setting, Cathcart Springs is situated just minutes from numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options.
Ballston Quarter is just a half-mile away, allowing for easy access to the self-proclaimed “center of the Northern Virginia food scene,” thanks to the diverse array of local restaurants here. They include Bartaco, Bollywood Bistro Express, Hot Lola’s, Ice Cream Jubilee, Rice Crook, Timber Pizza Co., and Sloppy Mama’s Barbeque, just to name a few. Plenty of shops and service providers are also located here, ranging from Macy’s and CVS to Onelife Fitness, Bash, and Cookology. For entertainment, there are live-action adventures at 5 Wits, playdates at Nook, painting and wine at Muse Paintbar, and the latest Hollywood blockbusters at Regal Cinemas.
The Crossing Clarendon is slightly farther away but offers even more opportunities for dining, shopping and fun, as well as access to a variety of service providers, including Clarendon Dental Arts, Acqua Nails, Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Sephora, and SoulCycle.
Lubber Run Park is less than a mile away from Cathcart Springs and provides the perfect spot for outdoor fun. Volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, along with hill slides, tons of green space for running around, and an amazing children’s playground can all be found here. The nature trails, paved paths and a boardwalk are ideal for walking and jogging. In the evenings, the amphitheater is often the site of live performances, including the Free Summer Concert Series and the Reptiles Alive Show.
