Beverly Hills Homes for Sale - Alexandria, VA
Beverly Hills, located in Alexandria, VA, sits just east of I-395 and next to Shirlington. It is a family-friendly community, known for its beautiful homes and spacious lots. The community is proud of its small-time vibe and the many community events held throughout the year. Despite Beverly Hills’ park-like setting, it is situated for easy access to I-395, making it ideal for commuters who prefer a quieter neighborhood to call home.
Beverly Hills and Beverley Hills are often used interchangeably, so you may see either spelling used when referring to the neighborhood.
Spacious Homes with Gorgeous Landscapes
Many of the single-family homes in Beverly Hills date back to the 1930s and 1940s and have a cozy Cape Cod- or stately Colonial-style exterior. Over the years, many of these original homes have undergone renovations and expansions, creating additional bedrooms and bathrooms, which are ideal for larger households. Most homes can often be found sitting back from the road, on larger lots that are framed by mature dogwood and oak trees. In the 1970s, a few townhomes, condos, and semi-detached homes were also built in the community. Currently, there are around 600 homes within the Beverly Hills neighborhood.
Plenty of Local Fun and Organized Events
Beverly Park, affectionately referred to as “The Pit” by Beverly Hills residents, is a favorite gathering spot of neighborhood children, who take advantage of the fabulous playground complete with a large climbing structure, adaptive swings, zip line, and a track for safe bike riding. It’s not uncommon for some of the parent groups to meet here, allowing their children to play while they chat.
In Beverly Hills, there is never a shortage of community events, including the annual Christmas tree lighting at The Pit and the Memorial Day “Wheel Day” Parade, for which participants decorate their wagons, strollers and bikes. Walking Wednesdays is another activity that involves neighbors decorating their front yards, porches and windows based on a specific theme. Then kids walk through the neighborhood, hunting for hidden art.
Close to King Street and Shirlington
Thanks to Beverly Hills’ close proximity to King Street, residents are only a short car ride from a variety of shopping and dining options. Safeway and The Fresh Market offer convenient grocery shopping, as does the Old Town Farmers’ Market, held on Saturdays. King Street also boasts the largest collection of independently owned boutiques in the D.C. area, including antique stores, clothing and shoe boutiques, high-end consignment stores, and kids’ stores.
Residents can stroll over to Shirlington for more options, including catching a live show at Signature Theater.
Anyone looking for a large home on an equally spacious lot, who also enjoys community togetherness, is sure to appreciate life in Beverly Hills.
