Choosing a Mortgage Lender – Your Choice of Lender Can Strengthen or Weaken Your Real Estate Offer
When you work with a local lender who has a great reputation among Northern Virginia homeowners and listing agents, this actually increases the strength of your real estate purchase offer. The reason for this is that it builds confidence in the seller’s mind that your loan will have the best chance possible of closing on time without any complications.
A lot of sellers and listing agents have read horrible internet reviews of certain online lenders and credit unions, and they’ve personally had negative experiences with their closings being delayed. A good listing agent counsels their seller on all of this, which gives them pause when it comes to working with buyers who are financed by these particular financial institutions. This becomes especially important when you make an offer on a property that has offers from other buyers, some of whom are working with great local lenders who are regarded as being more likely to finish a loan without any complications. In this situation, choosing a mortgage lender who is well regarded can mean the difference between getting your dream home or letting another buyer win out.
