Doing a Zillow search for homes is fast and easy, but is it accurate? Recently got a question about this from a client, so I thought I’d blog about it.
Here Was my Client’s Question Regarding her Zillow Search:
“What's the best site to use for looking at homes in the area? I've been using Zillow but I feel like they miss stuff sometimes.”
Have you ever done a Zillow search, found a great property for sale, and called the agent only to discover that the home was already under contract, or worse still, had already closed? I get calls like this all of the time on my listings, and I feel so sorry for people that they’ve missed out on a home that they really liked.
My best guess would be that Zillow actually only has two thirds of the active inventory of homes for sale in Northern Virginia, mainly because they take a long time to update their website, so they constantly show properties “for sale” that have already gone under contract or sold.
