George Washington Masonic National Memorial Architecture
The George Washington Masonic National Memorial features an exceptional mixture of ancient Roman and Greek architecture that is highlighted by high ceilings, giant pillars, and colorful murals and artifacts that depict the fraternity’s unique history and pay homage to the greatest orders, including the Order of the Mystic Shrine, otherwise known as the Shriners. Exquisite stained glasses windows portraying several of the most prominent Freemasons in history, as well as a massive bronze statue of George Washington that stands more than 17 feet high and weighs more than 7 tons can also be found within the museum.
Although it is privately owned, the museum is open seven days a week. Guided tours and a gift shop with an eclectic mix of items, including emblems, jewelry, and books, are available.
