Home renovation costs vary in Northern Virginia, so it’s important to keep this in mind as you budget for your property remodeling job. There are a wide variety of contractors who are available in this area, and there is a wide swing in costs for their services. Also, your costs will vary based on how elaborate you want your renovation to be.
Keeping Your Home Renovation Costs Low
As a Northern Virginia real estate agent who enjoys buying undervalued, fixer-upper properties, living in them, and then flipping them for a profit, I’ve developed a solid understanding for how to keep my home renovation costs low, and how to maximize a home’s resale potential. There is a big difference, however, in what I do and what a lot of homeowners prefer to do with their properties, and my way of doing things might not suit your tastes.
Since I’m always focusing on my return on investment, I get nice looking upgrades, but I don’t spring for all of the frills. If I were making a fixer-upper home my “forever” home, it would be a different story. I wouldn’t be so focused on whether I’d see the costs of my upgrades come back to me in the form of a nice return.
So long story short, your home renovation costs will really just depend on how elaborate you want to get with your remodeling job. My wife and I just bought another fixer-upper a few months ago, and we used some old tried and true methods of saving money on our upgrades.
