What kind of deals can you get when you buy bank owned homes in Northern Virginia Part 3

This is the third post in a three-part blog series on what kind of deal to expect when you buy bank owned homes in Northern Virginia. So far, we’ve covered Part 1 and Part 2.

When You Buy Bank Owned Homes, The Waiting Game Takes Patience

Buying bank owned properties takes some patience, as you strategically wait for certain key moments in a listing where a bank is more open to a lower offer. For instance, you make an offer right away at a price you’re comfortable with, the bank makes a counter offer, and you reject that offer. Then, it’s a waiting game. Another buyer could swoop in and make a higher offer, getting the home, but you have to be okay with that if you want to end up getting a home at a lower price. Or, the property might continue to languish on the market over the next few weeks, and perhaps at that point you decide to make a lower offer again. Maybe this time the bank is more open to making a deal.

The bottom line when you buy bank owned homes is that you need to remember that you might not get the first home you make an offer on, and that’s okay. It’s important to be patient and treat the purchase an investment. After all, even if you plan on living in the property, presumably you’re interested in bank owned properties because you want to invest in a good deal.
