The Brittany condos are located near the Shirlington area of Arlington, VA. I’ve sold a lot of properties at this building and at its “sister” building, the Carlton, which is located directly across the way.
The Brittany Condos
I got a question from a client the other day on why the Brittany condos sell for so much higher than units at the Carlton, so I thought I’d write a blog post on the topic.
1-bedroom units at the Brittany condos often sell for tens of thousands of dollars more than at the Carlton, and with 2-bedroom units, the price gap is even larger. Why is this the case?
Here are a couple main reasons:
1) Condos at the Brittany have in-unit washers and dryers, whereas the units at the Carlton have community laundry rooms. This makes properties at the Brittany more popular, which increases demand and prices.
2) The Brittany is also more renovated in the common areas, hallways, library/party room, etc. (although the Carlton is undergoing some cool renovations now as well). The fitness center at the Brittany is really nice - kind of like a smaller version of 24 Hour Fitness!
