Why split level homes in Northern Virginia are great investments

Some people love split level homes and some people aren’t big fans, but regardless of how you feel about this type of home’s layout, there’s a lot to like from an investment standpoint. Split level properties have short staircases that go up and down from a main first level as opposed to a typical long staircase separating two floors. These types of properties are also similar to split foyer homes, which have short staircases going up and down from the main entrance foyer.

Why There Will Always be a Solid Market for Split Level Homes in Northern Virginia

Northern Virginia real estate has gotten very pricey over the years, so single family homes in lots of areas have price tags that are out of reach for a lot of first time homebuyers. Split level homes are usually cheaper than colonial homes, so they offer a great alternative to first time homebuyers who are looking for a more affordable property in a nice area.

I work with a lot of first time homebuyers, so I have a lot of conversations with my clients about the importance of not only finding a home they can afford, but also finding a property that they’ll be able to sell easily in the future. It’s not uncommon to find split level homes for around $375,000 to $450,000 in Northern Virginia. There are a lot of home buyers looking at this price point in this area. What does this mean if you own a split level? There will always be a ready supply of first time home buyers who are interested in your home, which makes resale a lot easier.
