With back yard design, even the smallest back yard can be transformed into a beautiful, inviting, and functional oasis with a little bit of work. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Back Yard Design Furniture Selection
Instead of a huge table, opt for 3-piece bistro patio set in your back yard design. Another option is to use an all-purpose island with a couple of bar stools, which provides plenty of space for food prep and eating. If you prefer more sitting space, opt for a couple of mini benches (add a few decorative pillows to give it a colorful touch) or two narrow outdoor couches. Keeping everything, from furniture to your grill along the sides of the yard will maximize the space.
A small backyard doesn’t sentence you to a boring backyard devoid of foliage. Opt for tiered planters, vertical gardens, or coffee can planters. You can even choose to add window boxes.
Maximize Space
A small yard is no reason not to try your hand at growing fresh veggies. Stacked gardens not only give you the chance to test your gardening skills, but, with a few flowers added in, ensure it is beautiful as well as productive. While it’s not conventional, mirrors (preferably with stone, copper, stainless steel, or treated wood frames) will reflect light and draw decorative areas in the yard into the space.
Concentrate on one or two areas and leave the rest of your back yard design open. For example, create a cozy eating area and a space for grilling or a reading nook and water feature. Now, it’s time to get started converting your boring backyard into your own little oasis.
