Northern Virginia Homes for Sale by Zip Code
Northern Virginia is a patchwork of counties, independent cities and small towns, and a single zip code can cover very different neighborhoods. Pick a zip code below to learn about its neighborhoods, commute options, parks and what to know before you buy, and to see homes currently for sale there.
- Fairfax County
- City of Fairfax
- Arlington County
- City of Alexandria
- City of Falls Church
- Prince William County
Fairfax County
The county's suburbs, from the Dulles corridor to the Potomac. Many of these zips use a town name in the mailing address, such as Alexandria or Falls Church, but are in Fairfax County.
City of Fairfax
An independent city surrounded by Fairfax County. Its three zip codes also cover county neighborhoods.
Arlington County
Close-in neighborhoods along the Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow Metro lines, all under one county government.
City of Alexandria
An independent city with its own taxes and school system, from Old Town to the West End.
City of Falls Church
One of the smallest independent cities in the country, with its own school system.
Prince William County
Planned communities, rural acreage and waterfront living, plus the independent cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
Zip Codes That Cross City and County Lines
Some zip codes include more than one local government. 22030, 22031 and 22032 cover both the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County. 22046 is mainly the City of Falls Church but includes part of Fairfax County. 22302 and 22311 are mainly the City of Alexandria, and 22312 is mainly Fairfax County, but all three include parts of both. 20110 and 20111 cover the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park as well as part of Prince William County. A few other zip codes cross a line at their edges: 22066 includes a small part of Loudoun County, 22182 includes part of the Town of Vienna, and 20181 includes a small part of Fauquier County.
Because taxes, services and school districts differ on each side of these lines, always confirm a home's jurisdiction before you make an offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which zip codes does our team cover?
We serve 75 zip codes across Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, the City of Falls Church, and Prince William County, including the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
Does my mailing address tell me which county I'm in?
Not always. Many Fairfax County homes have an Alexandria, Falls Church or Fairfax mailing address, and several zip codes cross city and county lines. The jurisdiction, not the mailing address, decides your property taxes, local services and schools.
How do I find out which schools serve a home?
Schools are assigned by address. Confirm the home's jurisdiction first, then use that school district's boundary or school locator tool. We're happy to help you check any home you're considering.
