Chrysalis Winery is the 412-acre home of Chrysalis Vineyards and the Lockley Estate Farmstead Cheese Company, located in beautiful Loudoun County, outside of Middleburg, VA.
Chrysalis Winery History
Chrysalis Winery received its symbolic name due to the rare nectar of fine wine emerging from the barrel, much like the butterfly leaves the cocoon. It sits on 71 acres in the foothills of the Bull Run Mountains and Northern Blue Ridge (on what is considered by many to be some of the prettiest countryside in the entire world) and has been recognized as one of the best estate wineries on the entire Eastern seaboard.
Just 35 minutes from Washington, DC this vineyard is known for their award-winning Albari, Viognier, and Norton grape wines, which are produced using a combination of traditional handcrafted winemaking methods with the best modem techniques.
Before you visit, it's important to note that they only provide a simple fare with their tastings. But, the tasting room complex features patio seating for as many as forty people and their picnic pavilions features two 48 inch grills where you can cook your own barbecue - albeit on a first come first serve basis.
