How to get a free home appraisal in Northern Virginia Part 2

This is the second article in my series on how to get a free home appraisal before you buy or sell a Northern Virginia home. In the first article, we discussed why it can be beneficial to get an appraisal before you sell your home. In this post, we’ll discuss why it can be beneficial to have someone pay for your appraisal when you buy a home.

Getting a Free Home Appraisal When You Buy a Home in Northern Virginia

When you buy a home, your lender always requires you to get an appraisal. This is to ensure that you aren’t paying more than market value for your home. Although an appraisal is typically paid for up front by the buyer, it’s still regarded as being part of your closing costs. Appraisals typically cost around $400 - $450.

If you use my real estate services to buy a home, I’ll pay for the cost of your appraisal in the form of a credit toward your closing costs at settlement. It’s always free to use my home buying services, since the seller and listing agent always pay for my commission.
