Tips for Home Buying in Northern Virginia - Just because a property is vacant doesn’t mean a seller is desperate to sell at a lower price.

As you’re touring a vacant home, one of the first things that comes to mind is imagining how much the seller is spending every month on their mortgage and property taxes without even living in the property or having a tenant pay rent that can be put toward their monthly payments. The seller must be very motivated and willing to make a deal, right?

Not necessarily. Is the seller an investor who is finally selling their property instead of renting it out? Perhaps the seller has already bought a new home and simply wanted to avoid having a home sale contingency when putting offers on properties.
