Quality over Quantity
You will understand just what I mean when you visit the Two Twisted Posts Winery. Located in Purcellville, in Virginia's popular Wine Country, the philosophy is one that revolves around the grape i.e. a good wine should be itself not manipulated to fit a certain image. As such, the owners (who are relative viticultural newbies) decided quality was better than quantity and decided to make just a few quality wines with the ability to express the high-quality notes that lay within.
Their approach must be working because not along after they were in the bottle, their Reserve Chardonnay won the gold medal in the 2014 Governor's Cup and was also selected to be included in the Governor's Case. Not only was this a prestigious honor, they didn't even have regular tasting hours when this happened. How's that for promise!

It's safe to say that this growing vineyard has a bright future. Stop by when you are in Loudoun County, take one of their walking tours, and see for yourself why their Chardonnay was named one of the best 12 vintages in the state.
