Upton Hill Regional Park, located in Arlington, VA, boasts a number of traditional outdoor activities, such as hiking along the numerous wooded trails (leashed pets are allowed), picnicking in the covered shelters, and playing on the children’s playgrounds. However, it also offers activities in the spring, summer, and fall that aren’t found in your typical nature park.
Upton Hill Regional Park Features
Upton Hill Regional Park is home to a challenging 18 hole miniature golf course situated on a sloping terrain that is both beautifully landscaped and well shaded, which is definitely a bonus during the hot Virginia summers. In addition, six baseball batting cages with fast, medium, and slow speeds, as well as three softball cages with fast and slow pitch speeds are located within the park. (Helmets and bats are provided; closed toe shoes are required.
Without a doubt one of the biggest highlights of Upton Hill is Ocean Dunes Waterpark, which features a lap pool, a shallow pool for toddlers, and a large main pool. It also contains a 170-foot covered waterslide and a 230-foot open waterslide, as well as a splash zone complete with a 500-gallon dumping bucket, climbing platforms, waterfalls, and water jets. Within the water park are plenty of beach chairs, as well as a snack bar. The Waterpark is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
