The most effective home selling methods in Northern Virginia Part 4

This is the fourth post in a blog series about the home selling methods in Northern Virginia that are most and least effective. So far, we’ve covered Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

Home Selling Methods – Another Reason Some Agents Use Print Marketing in Northern Virginia

Another reason you see print marketing still being used is that it’s a good advertisement for the agent’s business and for getting more clients, even though it's not necessarily a good advertisement for getting your home sold. Again, there’s nothing wrong with advertising your business via print marketing, but as a home seller in Northern Virginia, it’s good to know the statistics and understand that print marketing is simply not the successful marketing vehicle it was a few decades ago.

Real Life Case Study – Print Marketing is Great for Promoting an Agent’s Business

I know an agent who specializes in luxury home sales, and for each listing, he’ll prepare beautiful, multi-page color flyers that cost around $10 each. Each time he gets a listing, he’ll mail the property flyers for that listing to every home in that neighborhood, letting each homeowner know that the flyer is an example of the type of marketing he’ll do for their home. This is, of course, impressive to each homeowner who receives the flyer.

Preparing and mailing several hundred flyers costs a lot of money. However, if you were a homeowner in this neighborhood, do you think there’s a good chance these types of home selling methods would result in a buyer stepping forward to purchase your home? Not very likely. On the other hand, what are the chances this strategy will result in the agent getting more listings? Very likely.
