Zephaniah Farm Vineyard is located in DC's Wine Country. Not only is Zephaniah Farm Vineyard a genuine working farm, it is the very definition of a family vineyard. For instance, the name, Zephaniah, hails from the owners grandfather, who ran the Monticello Steamboat Company in San Francisco. Furthermore, the family makes the wine and manages every process on the vineyard. In fact, much like a democracy, the whole family must decide on a selection before it is released to the public.
Zephaniah Farm Vineyard Wine Tasting
Tastings at Zephaniah Farm Vineyard are held in the living room of their 17th-century manor House. Tables are laid out for everyone to sit, while family members work the floor and regale you with stories about the family and the wine. This intimate atmosphere makes for a very relaxing day where you are guaranteed to feel at home.
Furthermore, the property is a perfect place for exploring. In fact, the family encourages visitors to picnic on the lawn or to relax in one of the many comfortable chairs on the grounds. Lending even more ambiance to the space is a recently built event hall - a truly beautiful building that perfectly complements an already special venue.
As you can see, the Zephaniah Farm Vineyard is a small boutique operation but, it has a quaint charm all its own. And as such, it's important to note that they are closed during the winter and only open on the weekends during the other seasons. Regardless, this vineyard is a must see, especially on beautiful sunny days, when you have time to explore the property and their delicious award-winning selections.
