Neighborhood
The Amberlea at South Riding condos community sits in the county of Loudoun, which has a rich history. The area was established in 1757 and was named for John Campbell, who was the 4th Earl of Loudoun as well as Virginia's Governor General. During the 1720's to 1730's the area was home to a mix of Germans, Quakers, and Scots-Irish settlers, as well as African and English slaves that migrated over from Tidewater. By the time the American Revolution rolled around, Loudoun was the most populated county in Virginia. It was rich in agriculture, earning the nickname of the Revolutions Breadbasket. There are a number of historical sites around the area, such as the Sully Way Plantation estate, Liberia Plantation House, and the Manassas National Battlefield.
There are a number of grocery, shopping and dining options, with Food Lion, Harris Teeter, and Giant Foods all being nearby. Other nearby shopping areas are East Gate Marketplace, Walgreens, and South Riding Town Center.
