Open from May through November, this market offers a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as gourmet coffee, cheeses and yogurts, fresh-baked bread and pastries, and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Further from home is the Old Town Farmers Market. Residents of Mayflower Square condos often bring their guests to the Old Town Market. This is the oldest farmers market in the United States, having been held for over 260 years. In fact, the market is so old that it goes back to the days when George Washington was living on his Mount Vernon estate. Our first president once sold his produce at this very same farmers market!

Mayflower Square condo residents locals love taking an afternoon and spending it along the Holmes Run Scenic Easement. While people jog and ride bikes around them, walkers casually stroll along the banks of the Holmes Run. Children especially delight in walking through the shaded tunnels, making a lot of noise. The park has a nice swimming and picnic area close to the metro rail. Children love the playground; parents just love to stop and relax.

Other local parks around the city offer residents of Mayflower Square a chance to get out and enjoy the natural beauty of VA. A walk in any local park is sure to be a relaxing experience.
