In 2011, the historical city of Falls Church became known as “The Little City.” Despite its small-time charm, Falls Church has plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Grocery shopping is particularly convenient, thanks to the 24-hour Harris Teeter across from Trammell’s Gate.
The Mosaic District, home to an array of quirky shops, as well as national retailers and a large green space with fountains to play in, is the perfect place to explore on the weekend. Unique is one particularly interesting thrift store with items ranging from vintage and beautiful to valuable and bizarre. Just a few blocks away, Cherry Hill Farmhouse and Park provides plenty of green space to run around, along with children’s playgrounds, a sand volleyball court, and a meticulously maintained Victorian home to tour. In addition, the award-winning Falls Church Farmers Market is right next door.
West Broad Street is another spot for a weekend stroll. The beautiful murals are fun to look at while perusing the offbeat specialty shops and cozy taverns and pubs.
State Theater is truly a legend in Falls Church and isn’t far from the community.
