The property of Pinecrest includes nearly a whole mile of walking trails and is surrounded by other trains in Fairfax County. 

In a beautiful park area, you can find the Pinecrest tennis courts, of which there are three in all. The park area is next to a pond and a large tot lot. The residents at Pinecrest and their guests can enjoy two great play areas which are designed specifically for children in particular age groups. The first tot lot is found behind Shetland Green Road and Sawgrass Court and is made for kids between two and five years old. The other tot lot, found next to the tennis courts, was made for kids between five and twelve years old. Any children under twelve have to be accompanied by their parents or another adult with no exceptions to this rule. 

Pinecrest also has two ponds and gazebos. The main pond is adjacent to the tennis courts. There are Neighborhood Watch events held at the Gazebo in this area, such as the annual Halloween Party and National Night Out. The secondary Gazebo decorates the pond which is nearest the golf course. 

The Pinecrest community was made out of the former Pinecrest Golf Course with 18 holes. The nine-hole Fairfax County Pinecrest Golf Course is still surrounding the Pinecrest. At the golf course, they offer lessons for old and young, plus camps for children of all ages.

As mentioned, the area of Pinecrest is nearby fabulous shopping, restaurants, and services which are all within walking distance. The Pinecrest Plaza was recently remodeled and includes shops such as Foxfire Grill, Home Depot, Let’s Dish, Staples, IndiaRoma Store and Bakery, Starbucks, Five Guys, Fantastic Nails, Flippin’ Pizza, Sprint, Kaplan Educational Services, Hunan Kitchen, The Shear Shack Salon, and Tropical Smoothie Café.
